Pokhara is the second largest city of Nepal and the most expansive city in the country. It lies about 200 km west of Kathmandu. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu are within a rectilinear distance of 50 km from the city, they are the three out of the ten highest mountains in the world. The city is also a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit. There are four short trek routes from here namely the Sarankot, Naudanda, Ghandruk or Ghorepani treks.
