The tour takes you from the capital city of Kathmandu to the city of lakes Pokhara and towards the laps of the Himalayas to Muktinath. In a world where traditions and cultures are vanishing so quickly. Here witness various cultures true to their own.

Overview:

The trip starts with an exploration of the most important Hindu temple in Nepal. The Pashupatinath “Protector of Nepal”. The temple stands on the banks of the holy Bagmati River northeast of Kathmandu. A powerhouse of Hindu spirituality, regarded as one of the most important places of pilgrimage for the followers of Hinduism. A subtle work of architecture with its gold-plated roof, be-jeweled doors, flowered motifs, and woodcarvings of the finest quality. The square-shaped pagoda-like temple, built on a single platform of 24 meters in height, stands in the middle of an open courtyard.

The entrance of the temple is from all four sides and is decorated with gold-gilt doors. Inside the temple, there is a narrow walk engulfing the sanctum from where one can have a closer view of Shivalinga. The temple is barred to non-Hindus, but one can have a good view of the temple and surrounding it from the opposite bank of the river. After soaking in the energy of the region head on a short drive towards Dakshinkali.

Nestled on the southern outskirts of the valley. The Dakshinkali temple is regarded as “Shakti Pit” a powerhouse. The blood-soaked temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali situated at the confluence of two sacred streams in a rocky cleft in the forest is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. Devotes come from far and wide to offer sacrifice and prayers to the deity.

The following day head towards the city of lakes Pokhara. Along the way visit the temple of Manakamana. A short cable car ride will take you to the temple complex situated at the top of the hill. One of the most important temples in the central hills of the country. The temple is believed to have “wish-fulfilling powers”. So a large number of devotes flock to this region throughout the year. Also the temple witnesses grand views of the Trishuli and Marshyangdi river valleys and majestic views of the Manaslu, Himchuli, and Annapurna massifs to the north. After exploring the temple head towards Pokhara.

At Pokhara visit the Bindhyabasini temple. Established in the 17th century the temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess, Durga. Learning about the rich culture explore the temple complex. Next head towards the Tal Barahi temple, a temple situated on a tiny island in the middle of the Phewa Lake. A short boat ride leads you to the temple complex. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Established in the 18th century it is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara.

The following day the thrill continues as you will be heading on a scenic flight to Jomsom. Upon reaching Jomsom after a short ride reaches Muktinath. One of the highest located temples in the world at an elevation of 3800 meters. The temple is visited by pilgrims, devotes, saints, and yogis from all over the world. Pilgrims take baths in holy water spouts to purify their bodies before visiting the main Temple for worship. The main shrine of Muktinath is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Jwala Mai temple nearby has a spring and an eternal flame fed by natural gas. The pilgrimage journey to Muktinath, holy dip in the Kunda, and bath beneath 108 water spouts are believed to bring nirvana or salvation. After exploring the temple head back to Jomsom. The following day catches an early flight to Pokhara and eventually back to Kathmandu.

Passport and Visa:

Every client must have a valid passport from the return date with a 6 months prior validity by the Nepalese consulate in your country or immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Accommodation: 

You will be accommodated in the Alpine Hotel and Apartment or similar hotels in Kathmandu. In Pokhara, you will be staying at Splendid View Pokhara Hotel.

Itinerary

After arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, a representative from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will welcome and escort you to your accommodation. After checking in you may explore the city. Stroll around Thamel a touristic hub of the region. Later in the afternoon join in for a brief orientation regarding the tour followed by a special welcome dinner program.

After breakfast proceed towards the Pashupatinath Temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside both the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple. Whereas tourists can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River. The temple area is full of several temples of numerous Hindu deities, which gives the whole place an ambiance of a sacred paradise. Regarded at the head of Shiva this temple is visited by devotees, pilgrims, saints, and sages throughout the year. Explore the temple complex and learn about the rich culture and various ritual practices.
Then proceed towards Dakshinkali temple. An hour's drive to the southern outskirts of the valley will lead you to the temple of Dakshinkali. Perched between the confluences of two streams, the temple is regarded as one of the most significant shrine of the valley. Dedicated to the Hindu deity kali the temple is visited by large number of devotees through the year. Various ritual sacrifice is partied in this temple. Explore the temple and learn about the rich history and legends. After the tour is completed head back towards your accommodation.
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast head on a long drive towards Pokhara following the winding roads of the Prithvi Highway. Along the way visit the holy Manakamana Temple. A 10 minutes cable car ride from Kurintar will eventually take you the temple. Upon reaching the temple, explore the complex and learn about the rich history, legends, and myths. Next head towards a vantage point to catch astonishing views of the Trishuli and Marsyangdi river valleys, and the Manaslu, Himalchuli, and Annapurna mountains to the north.
After exploring head back down to Kurintar and proceed towards Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara after a brief rest explore the region. Stroll alongside the banks of Phewa lake and visit various pubs and restaurants of the region.
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast head on a guided tour of the city. First head towards Bindhyabasini Temple. The center of religious activity in the lid bazaar. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagawati. On Saturdays and Tuesdays devotees flock the temple to offer sacrifices. Here discover the history and legends and learn about the unique culture of the people.
Next, head towards Tal Barahi temple. Tal Barahi Temple is a small two-story pagoda-style temple nestled on a tiny island in the center of Phewa Lake. The temple is dedicated to the deity Tal Barahi. Head on a scenic boat ride towards the temple learning about the rich history. After exploring head back towards your accommodation. Later in the afternoon stroll by the banks of Phewa Lake and visit various restaurants around.

Catch an early flight towards Jomson. The flight offers majestic views of lush rolling hill networks and snowcapped Himalayan giants. Upon reaching Jomsom proceed towards Muktinath. A short drive and eventually you will reach Muktinath. Along the way witness grand views of the desert-like landscapes and Snow-white Mountain peaks.
After a brief rest head out to visit the Muktinath Temple. A brief ascent on a series of stairs will lead to the temple complex. The temple of Muktinath is situated at an elevation of 3,800 meters making it one of the highest temples in the world. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is a sacred pilgrimage site to both Hindus and Buddhist, devotees and is visited by a large number of pilgrims throughout the year. Although the main pilgrimage normally takes place in September. Another attraction nearby is the Jwala Mai Temple where an eternal flame fed by natural underground gas is present. From the temple witness grand views of the landscape, brown and grey hills, and snowcapped mountains at a distance. After exploring the temple head back down towards Jomson.

Wake up early and witness the grand views of the sunrise. After breakfast head towards the Jomsom airport and catch a flight towards Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara after a brief rest head out to explore the city. In the evening relax and enjoy the splendid views of the sunset over the Himalayas.

After breakfast proceeds toward the domestic airport and catches a flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu head towards your accommodation. Later stroll around and go souvenirs shopping. In the evening join us for a special farewell dinner program to mark the end of your exciting trip.

Today you'll be returning back to your country. Alpine Club of Himalaya representative will drop you at the airport three hours before your flight departs.
