The Royal Trek takes you across the foothills of the Annapurna Region. The trek is for time-framed travelers who want to experience the rural side of Nepal. In this trek you will be traversing through several villages inhabited by Gurung families. Gurung’s are mostly known for their bravery and known as Gorkha solders. Along the trail learn about the rich history, culture, and traditions of the people. This trek also follows the footsteps that walked by the Prince of Wales in early eighties. The Royal, one of the best short treks in Nepal that gives you a perfect blend of nature along with cultural experiences in a short period of time.
Physical Condition & Experience Requirements:
Experience is not necessary for taking part in this trek. Anyone fit and healthy enough to walk for 4-6 hours daily can manage well. Also, since this trek takes us to only low altitude in generally good weather with easy access to local amenities even children and the elderly can take part. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is however a good advantage as it enhances strength and stability.
Accommodations:
We will be staying at Alpine Hotel Nepal in Kathmandu, Hotel Splendid View/ Hotel Crystal Palace in Pokhara, and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. A single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD350. Alpine Club of Himalaya will arrange rooms with attached washrooms. However, teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also, note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevations but it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.
Meals:
During The Royal Trek, you can enjoy Nepali, Tibetan, Indian as well as more common continental cuisines. Breakfast (only) will be provided during your stay in Kathmandu whereas all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be available during the trek and climb. While trekking The Royal Trek, breakfast will be taken in the same place we stay the night. Similar arrangements can also be arranged for dinner. Lunch will be taken en route to the next destination. During the climbing session, hygienic and freshly cooked food will be provided. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners in Kathmandu.
