Nepal Tibet Bhutan Sightseeing Tour – 14 Days

As you approach Bhutan you'll be welcomed by an amazing view of the Himalayas. Once you land, a representative of the Alpine Club of Himalaya with warmly welcome you and escort you to your accommodation. Once you have checked in, you will embark on your journey to Paro. In Paro, you'll visit the Dungste Lhakang a 15th-century temple with the Ugyen Perli Palace visible through its fence, the Rinpung Dzong a fortress monastery, the national museum, and Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest Bhutanese temple.

After breakfast, you'll head on a scenic hike for about 4-5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest), the most sacred monastery in Bhutan, built on a steep sheer cliff offering enchanting views of the Paro valley, Guru Padmasambhava who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan is said to have meditated here for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. Explore the region and after lunch retraces your step back towards the valley and a drive to Thimpu.

After breakfast, drive towards Dochula pass at an elevation of 3,100 meters in Punakha, a mountain pass where 108 memorial Chortens known as “Druk Wangyal Chortens” have been built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother. To the east of the pass, the snow-clad mountain peaks of the Himalayas are seen prominently, and among them is the mighty Mt. Masanggang at 7,158 meters (23,484 feet), which is the highest mountain peak in Bhutan.
From the pass, you'll head on a downward track and pass through rhododendron, fir, and hemlock forests, rice fields, and gaging rivers while enjoying the panoramic views of the Bhutan Himalayas range. After lunch, you'll visit Punakha Dzong, the second oldest and the second largest Dzong in Bhutan built between 1637-1638. Once you explore the area head towards your accommodation.

After breakfast, you'll drive to Paro via Dochu La pass at an elevation of 3,100 meters, and head towards the rich vegetation of Lungchutse Lhakhang. Explore the views of the Tibetan Plateau and the Bhutanese Himalaya. After lunch, you'll start a mild one-hour descent to Trashigang Goenba, another beautiful monastic center, from here continue another two hours to Paro.

Once you arrive, you can rest at your accommodation before heading out to explore. Ta Dzong watchtower, which houses the National Museum, Rinphung Dzong fortress, and Dumtse Lhakhang temple, is known to hold some of the finest murals in the kingdom.

Today you'll fly to Kathmandu, the views of lush green forest and snowy high Himalayan peaks welcome you. At the airport, you'll be welcomed by a representative of the Alpine Club of Himalaya and assist you to your accommodation after a brief rest head out to explore the valley's rich history, culture, and traditions. Take a short tour to the Pashupatinath temple, a famous 5th century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, and head towards Bouddhanath, one of the holiest Buddhist stupa where pilgrims come from far lands. Later in the evening stroll around the city.

Head towards Chitwan, the fifth largest city in Nepal located at the foot of the Churia range along the border separating Nepal and India. Once you arrive at Chitwan head toward the Chitwan National Park, the first national park in Nepal established in 1973 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering an area of 600 sq. miles and home to ever-increasing numbers of animal species. Explore the heart of the jungle and keep an eye out as the unique wildlife of the region can pop up anytime. Once you explore the reserve head towards your accommodation and enjoy the sun setting on the waters of the Rapti river. later in the evening enjoy a special cultural program performed by the local inhabitants.
Overnight in Chitwan.

Wake up early in the morning, and witness the old forest at dawn. After breakfast, visit the elephant breeding center and museums around. Later go on a jungle safari trip followed by a canoe ride down the Rapti River and witness Gharial and Mugger crocodiles along with otters, and varieties of birds or you'll have an option for bird watching and hike across some sections of the parks.

After breakfast, you'll leave for Pokhara the second largest city of Nepal nestled in the central Mahabharat range on the foothills of Annapurna mountain, the city is also known as the city of lakes consisting of various lakes, rivers, and deep gorges with magnificent views of Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre and various other mountain peaks. Once you reach Pokhara head towards your accommodation and rest later on stroll by the lake area.

Early in the morning, head towards Sarangkot a hill that overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the north and Pokhara city in the south. From here, catch amazing views of the sunrise over the mighty Himalayas, turning the white peaks in various colors. After witnessing the magnificent sunrise head back to the city and explore the various attractions around, Davis Falls a unique waterfall that flows directly into a narrow and deep canal, the Shiva Cave houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, head out on a boat ride in Phewa Lake, then visit the famous International Mountain Museum that records, documents, and chronicles the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world and the Himalayas in particular.
Later, in the afternoon head towards the airport and catch a flight to Kathmandu. Once you land in Kathmandu head towards your accommodation.

Catch an early morning flight to Gonggar Airport in Lhasa flying over one of the best aerial routes in the world with views of endless mountain ranges.
Once you land at Gonggar Airport, you'll meet up with your Tibetan guide and after immigration formalities, you'll head on an hour and a half drive along a 93 kilometers road leading to Lhasa at an altitude of 3650 meters which lies at the center of the Tibetan Plateau with the surrounding mountains rising to 5,500 meters. It’s advisable to rest and take it easy for the remainder of the day due to the high altitude.

Sightseeing in Lhasa begins with a visit to the Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. Built in the 17century, Potala Palace provides amazing views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand staterooms, and chapels. Norbulingka Palace is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and houses what is considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Next, we visit the Tibet Museum, the official museum of Tibet, which has a permanent collection of around 1000 artifacts related to the cultural history of Tibet. Overnight in Lhasa.

After breakfast, you'll visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Bazaar. Drepung Monastery was built in the 14 century and is believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in the past, afterwards visit the Sera Monastery, an ancient preserved monastery with white-washed walls and golden roofs. Jokhang Temple is another important sacred site that unravels more deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism, then stroll through the Barkhor Bazaar (market). With its open-air stalls, shops, and crowds of pilgrims, it is the epicenter of Lhasa.

In the morning, head towards Potala Durbar, this 17th-century Potala Palace offers an awesome view of the entire city after that drive to Ganden Monastery, one of the “great three” Gelug university monasteries of Tibet located at the top of Wangbur Mountain at an altitude of 4,300 meters. Ganden Monastery has extremely delicate and fine murals and sculptures, with more than two dozen major chapels with large Buddha statues, the monastery also houses artifacts that belonged to Tsongkhapa, including his tomb. Afterward, drive to Drayerpa Cave located in a beautiful valley with a stunning landscape that has more than 30 caves used for meditations by Lamas. In the evening, drive back to Lhasa.
