Namche Bazaar is a town, nestled on the laps of the Himalayas. Located in north-eastern Nepal, in the Khumbu region at an elevation of 3,440 meters /11,286 feet. A wonder in itself Namche is regarded as the economic powerhouse of the region. Here trekkers can find basic to grandeur amenities. Namche Bazaar Trek takes you on a journey of learning about the culture and traditions of the people, exploring mountains and wilderness, visiting ancient monasteries, and witnessing the biodiversity of the region.  

Namche Bazaar Trek Overview

Scenic Flight to Lukla

After exploring the narrow and crowded streets of Kathmandu valley and visiting various attractions around the following day head towards Lukla. The scenic flight takes you flying along the mountain chain. Upon reaching Lukla start the trek. Traversing across deep wilderness following river networks reach Phakding. A small Sherpa settlement hidden in the heart of the lush Dudh Koshi Valley.

Next, following the tracks along forested routes of oaks, rhododendrons with orchid and moss-draped trees move towards Namche Bazaar. The economic hub of the Khumbu region Namche has various attractions around. Explore the village and visit the various attractions. The following day witnesses grand views of the Himalayas while hiking around. Visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and get insight into the culture and lifestyle of the mountain people. Hike up to Everest View Hotel regarded as one of the highest placed hotels on the planet. From here witness views like never before. Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and Lhotse dominate the skyline and the lush evergreen woodlands.

The following day treks back to Lukla and eventually catches a flight to Kathmandu. The Namche Bazaar Trek is a perfect trek to witness the wonder of the Khumbu region and to learn about the rich culture and traditions of the people. Itinerary

Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport a representative from The Alpine Club of Himalaya will greet you and assist you with your accommodation. After a brief rest, head on a guided tour of the city. The Valley has various attractions around, soaking in the rich history and culture of the people.
Explore Kathmandu Durbar Square a UNESCO world heritage site, and the epicenter of religious and cultural life. An area filled with several ancient temples having historical significance with glorious old Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar; home to the Living Goddess.
Afterward, visit Swayambhunath Stupa, one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world. Majestically set high on a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan range. Then proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas tourists can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River.

Later visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behavior of mankind and human prosperity. Perched on an ancient route between Nepal and Tibet.

Proceed towards the domestic airport and catch an early flight to Lukla. On the flight soak in the majestic views of rolling lush hills and endless snowy white mountains. Upon landing, at Lukla airstrip after a brief rest begin your trek towards Phakding village.
Traversing through subtropical wet hill woodlands of a mixture of coniferous, oaks, and rhododendrons with orchid and moss-draped trees. As you progress the trail leads you to high alpine pasture and meadows. Following the descending route towards the Dudh Koshi River passing through Chauri Kharka settlement, a high alpine pasture lands for yaks. Next, following the river’s bank reach the village of Phakding.
Phakding nestled at an elevation of 2,610 meters, is a small Sherpa settlement hidden in the heart of the lush Dudh Koshi Valley. Once you reach Phakding head towards your accommodation later on explore the area and visit ancient monasteries, and chorten around.

Our Guest at Namche Bazaar

After having breakfast start the trek towards Namche Bazaar. The first section of the trek takes to traversing along the banks of the pristine Dudh Koshi, a milky glacial river. Following the trail reach Monjo. Next, the trail takes you across lush pine woodlands crossing several bridges including the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge.
From here you will be entering the Sagarmatha National Park, hereafter your permits are checked start the uphill climb. As you gain elevation brace yourself and catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest in all its grandeur from Tope Danda. A short walk and finally reach Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar is the Everest Region’s economic powerhouse. A commercial center where you can find basic to grandeur amenities. Upon reaching Namche head out to explore the region and visit various pubs and restaurants of the region and hike up to any vantage point to witness grand views of the landscape.

Namche Bazaar

Today explore the wonders of Namche Bazaar. After breakfast heads up to any vantage point and witnesses the breathtaking view of the Himalayas. The sun’s rays illuminate the snow-covered peaks of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and Lhotse. After witnessing, the sunrise heads out to explore the Sherpa Culture Museum. Here learn about the culture, customs, and traditions of the mountain people.

Following that, next head towards Everest View Hotel regarded as one of the highest placed hotels on the planet. Hiking across the ridge section that takes a couple of hours reach the hotel. From here witness splendid views of the landscape. Witness rows of the hill covered with evergreen, fir trees, shrubs, and rhododendrons. Apart from that the majestic views of Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the amazing Everest dominate the skyline. After soaking in the views of the region retrace your steps back to Namche Bazaar. Later witness the grand views of the sunset.

Wake up early and head towards any vantage point to catch the sunrise. The mountain sunrise hits different. After soaking in the views have your breakfast. Then retrace your steps back to Namche. Traversing across downhill trails along the Dudh Koshi River crossing the deep wilderness, various settlements, and ancient monasteries reach Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla head towards your accommodation. Later celebrate your last night in the mountains.

After breakfast, head towards the Lukla Airport and catch a flight back to Kathmandu. The picturesque flight from Lukla to Kathmandu seems like a delight. Once you arrive at Kathmandu head towards your accommodation. Later stroll around on your own or head on a guided tour of the city. The city has various attractions to choose from.
Later in the evening join in for a special dinner program to mark the end of your adventure with your guide and our representatives.
