The valley of Kathmandu has a lot to offer. A rich history, culture, and natural beauty are often known as an open-air museum. The valley is surrounded by lush rolling hills of the Mahabharat range. Consisting of three main cities: Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur each has its own unique culture and traditions.
The valley has various architectural landmarks: Temple, Vihar, Stupa, Chorten, Gumba, Palace, Fort, Traditional houses, Party, Pauwa, Dharmashala, Jaladroni, Dungedhara, Thaan. On the second day head on the guided tour of the city to visit various attractions of Kathmandu. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, the epicenter of religious and cultural life.
Head towards Swoyambhunath Stupa. An ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley and an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination by the 5th century AD. Swayambhunath’s worshippers include Hindus, Vajrayana Buddhists of northern Nepal and Tibet, and the Newari Buddhists of central and southern Nepal.
Next head towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A massive temple complex alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. An important pilgrimage for Hindus.
Later head towards Boudhanath, one of the largest spherical stupas of Nepal and the world depicting a massive mandala. The stupa is on the ancient trade route, where merchants have rested and offered prayers at Boudha Stupa for many centuries. The stupa dates from 600AD and still is alive with all the rituals and activities going around.
