At the foothills of the Himalayas, along the border separating Nepal and India. The Bardiya National Park covers a vast territory. Previously known as the Royal Hunting Reserve and later renamed as Royal Bardiya National Park. Now the region is called Bardiya National Park. The park is one of the largest and most isolated National Park in the country. Located in the southwest part it was established in 1976 A.D. The park covers a total area of 968 sq. km and the altitude ranges from 80-150 meters above sea level. The park is boarded by the rapids of the mighty Karnali River and bisected by the Babai River. On the northern side, its boundary is set by the hills of the Churia range. The area is covered by alluvial grassland and subtropical moist deciduous forests. It is home to a wide range of biodiversity and an increasing number of animal species.
The Bardiya National Park was recognized worldwide for the efforts done by the Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio. Who initiated a tiger conservation program through WWF. Due to this, the population of tigers in this region has doubled making it one of the crucial sanctuaries of Nepal.
The Bardiya National Park tour starts with a scenic flight from the Kathmandu Valley toward the noisy and bustling city of Nepalgunj. From Nepalgunj, after a short ride, you will finally reach the Bardiya National Park. For the next two days, you will be participating in various activities and exploring
the region. Apart from that, you will be visiting various settlements of the indigenous people. Learning about their history, culture, and traditions. Be a part of this exciting adventure to the heart of the jungle with the Alpine Club of Himalaya. Travel Insurance: All clients participating in any activity must have travel insurance. Personal injury, death, hospital expenditures, repatriation fees, and helicopter rescue. Any other disease covered by the insurance plan will be given. We highly advise you to acquire a comprehensive insurance plan from a trustworthy insurance company. Passport and Visa: Every client must have a valid passport from the return date with a 6 months prior validity by the Nepalese consulate in your country or theimmigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Itinerary
Catch an early morning flight from Kathmandu domestic airport towards the Nepalgunj. A bustling city in the southwestern part of the country. The flight is scenic with views of snow-capped peaks, lush hill networks, and the southern plains. Upon reaching Nepalgunj head towards Bardia National Park. A short drive of around two hours takes you across a distance of 90 kilometers.
Upon arriving at Bardia National Park head toward your accommodation. After a brief rest attend a brief orientation about various activities for the following days. In the afternoon stroll around the region and visit the Tharu village around. Learn about the indigenous people of the region and indulge in friendly conversation with them.
After breakfast, head on an adventure to the heart of the jungle. A jeep safari experience waits for you. The safari ride takes you across the dense canopy of the old-growth forest. Keep an eye out as you may witness various species of the region including the royal Bengal tiger and the one-horned Rhinoceros. Head out to various observation towers around and witness various wildlife of the region. Later visit the Tharu museum and learn about their history, culture, and lifestyles.
The thrill continues today as you will be heading on a Jungle walk. Traversing through the dense canopy witness various biodiversity of the region. If you are lucky you may witness the Royal Bengal tiger and several species of rare birds. Then visit various local settlements around. In the afternoon relax and enjoy majestic views during the sunset.
After breakfast head towards Nepalgunj airport and catch a flight towards Kathmandu Valley. Upon arriving at Kathmandu Valley proceed towards your accommodation. After a brief rest head out to explore around. Stroll around Thamel a touristic hub of the valley. Later in the evening join in for a special dinner program to mark the end of your adventure.
