Lhasa Explore Tour is a cultural and natural exploration of Tibet. Lhasa literally translates to “place of gods”, nestled at an elevation of 3,600 meters and lies in the central part of the Tibetan Plateau surrounded by mountains of 5,500 meters of a forgotten world. Lhasa is a pilgrimage dream and the heart and soul of Tibet and an ultimate destination for explorers. A city was frozen in time full of wonders, despite the large-scale encroachments of modern Chinese influence.

This unparalleled travel experience will help you to immerse in the timeless culture of Lhasa and explore the natural wonders of Tibet. In this Lhasa tour, you’ll explore the renowned Potala Palace, a vast white-and-ochre fortress on the roof of the world completely untouched by the outside world. A sight that has heralded the marvels of the Holy City to travelers for centuries.

While the Potala dominates the skyline, the Jokhang is considered the most sacred and important temple in Tibet, located some 2 kilometers to the east, and is considered the real spiritual heart of the city. An otherworldly mix of flickering butter lamps, wafting incense, and prostrating pilgrims, the settlement of Jokhang is the most sacred and alive of Tibet’s temples and the Barkhor pilgrim circuit is where most people are enchanted by Tibet.

The old Tibetan quarter makes up a small area of Lhasa these days. The modern city is a Chinese boomtown, where a new train line has fuelled massive growth in tourism changing the face of Lhasa’s daily routine. For all its modernization Lhasa remains a fantastic cultural hybrid, its streets bustling with a diverse mix of people.

As the gateway to the ‘real’ Tibet, is out in the countryside, Lhasa deserves at least a week to explore its landscapes of formidable peaks and meandering paths observing and learning the culture and tradition of this lost world of Tibet.

Mr Sujan help us to select this tour as per our interest. He did the best job by planning this tour. During this tour, we were able to Explore Lhasa Tour, the shortest possible tour of Lhasa, is very popular amongst international travelers. We visited Dalai Lama’s Potala and Norbulingka Palaces, the Tibet Museum and Barkhor Bazaar. We also visited a number of impressive Tibetan monasteries in Lhasa like Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and Jokhang Temple. They were all amazing monasteries with a history and religious relevance of their own. This trip also took us further to the outskirts of Lhasa where we visited the 15th century Ganden Monastery and explore the Drayerpa Cave, which is still a meditative sanctuary for Tibetan monks. I would like to recommend Alpine to my friends and family.
