Helicopter Tour, Sightseeing
The Nepal Wildlife and Everest Helicopter Tour is an 8-day journey combining Himalayan sightseeing, cultural heritage, and wildlife adventures. This tour offers an opportunity to explore the historic cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, experience a scenic helicopter flight over the Everest region, and discover the rich biodiversity of Chitwan National Park.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where you will explore ancient temples, Buddhist stupas, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of the major highlights is the Everest helicopter tour, which provides spectacular aerial views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Everest Base Camp, and the Khumbu Glacier, with a landing at Hotel Everest View, subject to weather conditions.
The adventure continues in Chitwan National Park, where you can enjoy a canoe ride, guided jungle walk, jeep safari, birdwatching, and a visit to the Government Elephant Breeding Centre. With comfortable accommodation, guided sightseeing, and convenient transportation, this package offers a memorable way to experience Nepal’s cultural and natural attractions in one trip.
The Everest helicopter tour is one of the major highlights of this 8-day Nepal package. It offers a convenient way to experience the spectacular Himalayan landscape without undertaking a multi-day trek.
The flight begins in Kathmandu and continues toward Lukla, where the helicopter makes a technical stop for refueling. From there, you can enjoy aerial views of the Everest region, including Everest Base Camp, the Khumbu Glacier, the Khumbu Icefall, and prominent peaks such as Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
A landing at Hotel Everest View provides an opportunity to appreciate the surrounding mountains from a high-altitude viewpoint. You may choose to have breakfast there at an additional cost.
The experience is subject to weather, visibility, passenger weight limits, and aviation safety requirements. The shared helicopter tour does not include a landing at Kala Patthar.
Kathmandu Valley is the cultural heart of Nepal, offering a remarkable combination of historic palaces, Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, and traditional Newari architecture.
During the tour, you will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. These sites provide insight into Nepal's religious traditions, history, craftsmanship, and everyday cultural life. The journey continues to Patan and Bhaktapur, two historic cities known for their intricate woodcarving, traditional courtyards, pagoda-style temples, and artistic heritage. Patan Durbar Square and Krishna Temple showcase exceptional craftsmanship, while Bhaktapur offers highlights such as the Golden Gate, Palace of 55 Windows, and Nyatapola Temple.
Together, these sightseeing experiences provide a deeper understanding of Nepal’s cultural heritage beyond its famous mountains.
Chitwan National Park offers a contrasting experience to the Himalayan scenery, with subtropical forests, grasslands, wetlands, and a diverse range of wildlife.
During your stay, you can enjoy a canoe ride along the Rapti River, a guided jungle walk, and a jeep safari through designated areas of the park. Wildlife sightings may include one-horned rhinoceroses, several species of deer, monkeys, wild boars, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. The Royal Bengal Tiger also lives in the park, although sightings are never guaranteed.
The itinerary also includes a visit to a Tharu village, where you can learn about the culture and traditions of the local community. A traditional cultural presentation provides another opportunity to experience the region’s heritage.
The visit to the Government Elephant Breeding Centre introduces you to elephant breeding activities and conservation-related work.
Wildlife activities are subject to park regulations, weather, and animal movements. Sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Nepal can be visited throughout the year, but the best time for this tour generally depends on mountain visibility, weather conditions, and wildlife activities.
Spring (March–May): Spring offers generally favorable conditions for cultural sightseeing and Himalayan views. Warmer temperatures and improving visibility can make it a good time for the Everest helicopter flight.
Autumn (September–November): Autumn is a popular season for visiting Nepal because of generally clear skies and pleasant conditions. It is an excellent period to combine Kathmandu sightseeing, an Everest helicopter excursion, and Chitwan wildlife activities.
Winter (December–February): Winter can offer clear mountain views, although mornings may be cold and high-altitude flights can be affected by weather.
Monsoon (June–August): The monsoon brings rainfall, humidity, and cloud cover, which can reduce mountain visibility and affect helicopter schedules. Chitwan's landscapes are lush, but outdoor activities may be affected by rain.
For the best overall balance of mountain visibility, sightseeing, and wildlife experiences, spring and autumn are generally recommended. Helicopter flights remain weather-dependent in every season.
Your journey begins with a scenic flight into Nepal, offering beautiful views of the Himalayas, rolling green hills, and terraced farmlands. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Alpine Club of Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.
The rest of the day is free for relaxation after your journey. If you wish to explore, you can stroll through the lively streets of Thamel, known for its shops, cafes, restaurants, and vibrant atmosphere. You can also use this time to prepare for the upcoming sightseeing and helicopter adventure.
