Kalinchowk Tour offers an alternative for those who do not want to trek in Nepal but want to gaze upon the Himalayas close up. Nestled at an elevation of 3,842 meters/ 12,605 feet in the Gaurishanker Conservation Area. The Kalinchok Bhagwati Temple is regarded as one of the holiest spiritual shrines in the country for Hindus and Buddhists. Apart from the cultural aspect, it is one of the most visited destinations in the winter. Travelers often visit to experience snowfall and various adventure activities with less effort.
The Kalinchowk Tour starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu Valley. Following the winding roads of the Arniko Highway. The drive takes you across scenic landscapes with grand views of the endless green hills and the snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas. Along the way explore the beach along the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi Rivers. Next gaining altitude passing various settlements reach Charikot and eventually Kuri.
The following day thrill continues. Head towards the top of the ridge and visit the ancient Kalinchok Bhagwati Temple. From the summit witness grand views of the hills, Rocky Mountains, and snowcapped peaks from above the clouds. Next, proceed on a short drive towards the Dolkha Bhimsen temple. After exploring the temple and learning about the legends and history head back to Kathmandu Valley.
However, the best time to visit Kalinchowk depends on the purpose of your visit. If your preference is a short trek, then summer or autumn will be the perfect time for you as the weather is moderate and the views are clear. If you wish to enjoy snowfall or any other snow activities, then December, January, and February would be the ideal months.
All clients participating in any activity must have travel insurance. Personal injury, death, hospital expenditures, repatriation fees, helicopter rescue. Any other disease covered by the insurance plan will be given. We highly advise you to acquire a comprehensive insurance plan from a trustworthy insurance company.
Every client must have a valid passport from the return date with a 6 months prior validity by the Nepalese consulate in your country or immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Head on an early morning drive towards the village of Kuri. The drive takes you following the winding roads of the Araniko Highway. Along the way visit various beaches alongside the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi River. Next following the winding roads across a series of hills and crossing various settlements reach Charikot. From here after a brief drive, you will eventually reach Kuri Village.
