Overview
Kakani is a small town located in Nuwakot District in Bagmati Province of central Nepal. Perched on a hilltop at an elevation of 2000 meters, this hill station is one of the most accessible settlements in Kathmandu. Following the narrow dusty roads, on a 29 Km stretch, you will reach the settlement of Kakani.
The Kakani circuit hiking takes you traversing across a 12 km trail touring around Kakani hill. Hiking past settlements along hilltops, lush pine forests, and rhododendron woodlands. Along the trail witness grand views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna ranges. Explore various monasteries, ancient temples, ethical Tamang Villages, and natural rock climbing sites. Also, visit strawberries, apples, and trout farms in the region. The Kakani circuit hiking gives you an insight into the rural Nepalese lifestyle and culture.
Hiking Information:
The Kakani Hiking starts from the Kakani top, near the scout office. The hike takes you around a
29 Km stretch and eventually ends at the exact location.
Detail Itineraries
The Hiking starts at 8 a.m. Private transportation will pick you up from the Alpine Club of Himalaya or any accommodation you are staying in Kathmandu.
