The Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour starts with a flight from the Kathmandu Valley and takes you to several attractions in the region. First head towards the iconic settlement of Lukla, perched on a hilltop. Next towards Kala Patthar, a renowned vantage point. After soaking in the views from 5,550 meters next head towards Everest View Hotel. The hotel is one of the highest placed locations in the world, enjoy a good meal with views of snowcapped mountains and the deep wilderness of the region. After that head towards Lukla and back to Kathmandu valley.

Lukla to Kala Patthar (5,550 meters) (15-20 minutes)

Everest View Hotel to Lukla for refueling (15 minutes)
Lukla to Kathmandu (45 minutes)

Notice on Domestic Flight Kathmandu to Lukla The Government of Nepal has announced an issue for the flight operation to Lukla. Most flights to Lukla will commence from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid heavy traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport. The airport in Ramechhap has located 130km from Kathmandu (approximately 3-4 hours drive). Alternatively, helicopter arrangements can be made for 5 people sharing basis with the addition of USD 500 for one way flight per person to change your airplane flights to the helicopter. We will try to coordinate and form groups at the airport for this arrangement, but we cannot guarantee it. The drive to Ramechhap and flight to Lukla are guaranteed unless the flight is canceled due to bad weather conditions. Travelers are suggested to advise us on the preferred alternatives for the flights to/from Lukla affected due to possible delays or disruptions.

Detail Itineraries

The Everest helicopter tour starts from Kathmandu. Once you reach the domestic airport hop on your helicopter and head towards Lukla. The flight to Lukla has mesmerizing with views, fly over the concert jungles, of the Kathmandu valley, as you cross the valley witness the majestic views of the lush hills of central Nepal, a part of the great Mahabharat range. Hovering above dotted settlements along the central hills of Nepal, you will reach the settlement of Lukla. A beautiful settlement nestled on a hilltop. The flight duration is around 30 to 45 minutes. Once you reach Lukla, take a short break. The helicopter needs to be refueled at Lukla. A short break of around 10 to 15 minutes and again get in the helicopter and head towards Kala Patthar.

Managed to see the Everest within 4 hour helicopter tour. From Syangboche your tour Took us closer to Mt. Everest and all the magnificent Himalayas, like Amadablam, Pumori, Number, and Cho Oyu. The Solukhumbu (Solu) region of Nepal. We had an opportunity to see the Everest and surrounding places. I recommend this tour to everyone who has limited time to go for Trekking.

I am disable but I always had dream of going to Mt. Everest. Alpine club of Himalaya made my dream come true. They arranged a helicopter tour to Everest tension for me to visit to Mt. Everest. We left TIA and landed to Lukla for fuelling. Then landed at Everest view hotel for breakfast. All the experience was like a dream. I felt like being in haven. Most recommend trip ever made. Alpine club of Himalaya is highly recommended.
