For all those coffee lovers and enthusiasts, the Coffee Farm Tour is a perfect getaway to get insight into the coffee culture of the country. Exploring the various ancient attraction and rural villages around the country. Trying various organic coffee, and visiting shops and farms learning about the cultivation, harvest, and production of the local coffee industries.
Nepal is renowned for its tea industry. But in recent times the coffee culture has taken a boom. Various cafes around every corner of the valley provide locals brewed coffees. The history of coffee dates back to 1938 when a hermit named Hira Giri brought coffee to Nepal from Myanmar. The cultivation was first done at Aapchaur in Gulmi. Later spread throughout the country. As time went on various commercial farms thrived around the country producing several kinds of coffees.
The coffee industry has a very wide potential in the country. Various regions of the country have the perfect climate, and topography for coffee. So from the central hills to the southern mid hills, several farms are operating providing several varieties of coffees.
Overviews:
After exploring various UNESCO heritage sites around the valley and visiting several coffee shops learning about the coffee culture. The following day head on a long drive towards Chheskam. A village perched in the Solukhumbu District, in the laps of the mighty Himalayas. Next head towards Mamerku, traversing across the dense old-growth forest of the Khumbu region. Along the way witness splendid views of the landscapes and various settlements. Upon reaching Mamerku visit the various coffee farms of the region. At the farm try several coffee products explore around and head on to various activities. Get an insight into the farming, harvesting, and processing of coffee.
Then move across the deep wilderness following forested trails, ridges, and eventually to Bukur. The next day the thrill continues. Head towards a vantage point and witness grand views of the landscape and the sunrise. The sun illuminating the snowy-white peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu, and other several 7000 meters peaks is a sight not to be missed. After exploring Bukur retrace your steps back to Mamerku.
Thereafter descending across the deep wilderness of the Khumbu region move towards Chheskam and head on a short drive to Patale. Along the way explore various coffee farms and enjoy freshly brewed coffee with grand views of the landscapes. Next, head back to Kathmandu. At Kathmandu stroll around the magical city learning about the rich culture and history of the people. Also, visit various coffee shops in the region.
Meals:
Hygienic and authentic Nepali meals are provided. Also, western and continental meals are available throughout the tour.
Various drinking water taps are accessible with natural water supplies. However direct use of the water is not recommended. Buy bottled water or water purification tablet, and chlorine drops.
Detail Itineraries
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from Alpine Club of Himalaya who will drop you off at our hotel. After checking in, you take a rest or stroll around the streets of Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu. In the evening, join in for a welcome dinner hosted by the Alpine Club of Himalaya.
