Overview

Chitwan National Park Tour: Across an area of over 952 sq. km on the southern central plains of subtropical Inner Terai Lowlands, plants and animals abound in Nepal’s largest natural reserve. The Churia Hills rise along the park’s southern border, while the Rapti River marks its northern limit. Within Chitwan National Park, Sal forests dominate the landscape, covering a whopping 70% of the area. The remaining 30% is a mosaic of grasslands and riverine forests. This remarkable diversity creates a perfect habitat for an abundance of wildlife. Tigers, rhinos, and wild elephants roam free, while a variety of reptiles slither through the undergrowth. The skies above are a haven for birds, with an astounding 650 species calling Chitwan National Park home. Established in 1973, Chitwan National Park rose to international acclaim in 1984 when UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site. Spanning across Chitwan, Nawalpur, and Makwanpur districts, the park’s vast territory encompasses a diverse landscape of marshlands and forests. Explore the National park witness wildlife and learn about the people living in the heart of the jungle.

Chitwan National Park Tour Overview:

Chitwan Jungle Safaris whisk you away on a wilderness adventure through the steamy southern plains, a rich ecosystem teeming with tigers, prehistoric one-horned rhinos, wild elephants, and a dazzling array of wildlife. Here, fish-eating crocodiles lurk in the waters, Asian alligators share the territory, common leopards prowl, and a variety of deer, wild boar, and water buffalo graze. Don’t miss the chance to spot over 40 snake species, including the mighty Indian rock python, Nepal’s largest. The skies come alive with 650 species of birds, while the diverse flora boasts over 40 types of grass. Explore the lost world by walking across towering trees and twisting vines, canoeing on shallow waters of the Rapti river. And also, visit scattered villages across the reserve of the Tharu people, hike to any vantage point which offers visitors an unrestricted view of the reserve crowned by mist under a sea of clouds experiencing the heartbeat of the jungle. Next, head out on the banks of the Rapti river to witness the sun setting over the horizon changing the skies into an array of colors. And later join in a cultural show of the Tharu people learning about their traditions, lifestyles, and culture.
