Overview

At the foothills of the Himalayas, along the border separating Nepal and India. The Bardiya National Park covers a vast territory. Previously known as the Royal Hunting Reserve and later renamed as Royal Bardiya National Park. Now the region is called Bardiya National Park. The park is one of the largest and most isolated National Park in the country. Located in the southwest part it was established in 1976 A.D. The park covers a total area of 968 sq. km and the altitude ranges from 80-150 meters above sea level. The park is boarded by the rapids of the mighty Karnali River and bisected by the Babai River. On the northern side, its boundary is set by the hills of the Churia range. The area is covered by alluvial grassland and subtropical moist deciduous forests. It is home to a wide range of biodiversity and an increasing number of animal species.

The Bardiya National Park was recognized worldwide for the efforts done by the Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio. Who initiated a tiger conservation program through WWF. Due to this, the population of tigers in this region has doubled making it one of the crucial sanctuaries of Nepal.

The Bardiya National Park tour starts with a scenic flight from the Kathmandu Valley toward the noisy and bustling city of Nepalgunj. From Nepalgunj, after a short ride, you will finally reach the Bardiya National Park. For the next two days, you will be participating in various activities and exploring

the region. Apart from that, you will be visiting various settlements of the indigenous people. Learning about their history, culture, and traditions. Be a part of this exciting adventure to the heart of the jungle with the Alpine Club of Himalaya.    Travel Insurance: All clients participating in any activity must have travel insurance. Personal injury, death, hospital expenditures, repatriation fees, and helicopter rescue. Any other disease covered by the insurance plan will be given. We highly advise you to acquire a comprehensive insurance plan from a trustworthy insurance company. Passport and Visa: Every client must have a valid passport from the return date with a 6 months prior validity by the Nepalese consulate in your country or the

immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Your safety is of paramount importance to us at the Alpine Club of Himalaya. We have the absolute authority to cancel the trip or change the itinerary, when deemed necessary or when we have reason to believe your safety is at stake. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, natural disasters, and such, can contribute to changes in the itinerary when traveling in remote mountainous regions. In these extreme situations, we kindly request that you offer your full co-operation to the trusted leader of the group appointed by the Alpine Club of Himalaya. However, we assure you that we will make every effort to keep to the above itinerary.
